ALLEN PARK -- Aidan Hutchinson is sticking around home for the long haul.
The Detroit Lions have signed the star pass rusher and former University of Michigan standout to a four-year extension, per Hutchinson’s agency.
Hutchinson’s deal is a massive one, as expected. NFL Network reports his new deal includes $180 million with $141 million guaranteed. That $141 million guaranteed is the most ever for a non-quarterback. The $45 million per-year average puts him behind only Micah Parsons’ new deal with the Green Bay Packers ($46.5 million per year).
The Lions picked up Hutchinson’s fifth-year option on his rookie contract, meaning much like Penei Sewell’s extension, the new four years will kick in after 2026. It’s also another big-time extension for one of general manager Brad Holmes’ draf
