Fort Saskatchewan City Council met for their annual organizational meeting on October 28 to a packed crowd.

The administrative session took place to allow the council members and Mayor to be sworn into office, as well as take care of some “housekeeping”, including setting meeting dates.

The only small debate during the hour-long session was Councillor Katchur introducing an amendment to have Councillor Gordon Harris sit on the board of the Capital Region Northeast Water Services Commission, of which Fort Saskatchewan is a member, instead of Councillor Noyen, who would be taking over Harris’ role on that board.

After some debate, the amendment was struck down in a 3-4 vote, with Katchur, Harris and Blizzard voting for the amendment. Following this, the appointment was passed with a 5-2 v
