( 25News Now ) - Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker thinks it’s “awful” what U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are doing in places like Chicago, and he believes “you will see them” in Peoria.

Pritzker made his remarks in the River City on Tuesday during a question-and-answer session with reporters.

“I think that you will see them in Peoria as we will see them in other cities and perhaps other places across the State of Illinois, and there are no limits on what they are doing,” said Pritzker.

Pritzker did not say when he believed ICE might conduct operations in Peoria.

The governor has gained national notoriety for his harsh criticism of President Donald Trump, and he’s believed to be considering a run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2028.
