KILLINGLY, Conn. (WTNH) -- A 65-year-old woman was charged Tuesday with fatally shooting a man in the presence of a 12-year-old in Killingly, according to Connecticut State Police.

Michelle Yeagher of Killingly was charged with murder, carrying a firearm while under the influence, risk of injury to a child, and reckless endangerment.

Authorities responded to a report of a shooting around 9:21 p.m. Monday on Pratt Road. At the scene, officers encountered a witness at the front door. Once they entered the home, troopers found 39-year-old Andrew Michael Olson of Canterbury lying on his back unresponsive with a gunshot wound, according to a state police report.
