EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — This year's Halloween is expected to be a windy one.
Heavy rain and gusty winds are currently in the forecast for Thursday night into Friday, with the wind expected to continue into the weekend.
Since Friday is Halloween, people are urged to take steps to prevent their decorations from blowing away, which could pose safety risks to drivers and pedestrians.
"If you have Halloween decorations, let's get those secured as much as possible," AAA Northeast's Mark Schieldrop told 12 News on Wednesday. "Treat it like your patio furniture. If it's going to be really windy out there, especially these inflatable Halloween displays, oftentimes they're really susceptible to wind gusts."
