Seattle Mariners star Cal Raleigh’s record-setting season earned him the top recognition from his MLB peers.

The MLB Players Association announced Wednesday that Raleigh was voted as overall Player of the Year and American League Outstanding Player in the 2025 Players Choice Awards.

Raleigh was one of three Player of the Year finalists alongside New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge and Los Angeles Dodgers two-way phenom Shohei Ohtani.

The Players Choice Awards are voted on by active MLB players.

Raleigh is the first Mariner and first catcher to be named Player of the Year since the award was introduced in 1998. He is Seattle’s first player to win AL Outstanding Player since Ichiro Suzuki in 2004. The only other catcher to win the AL award
