Mrs. Leatrice Pearson died a few weeks ago at the amazing age of 95. She was born in 1930 just as the Great Depression began and lived healthily into the next century. She taught high school English classes for over 30 years and was the first African American to teach high school English in Caldwell County. When she died, it was noted she outlived six brothers and three sisters. In her lifetime, she built a big family.
