Police Scotland has come under fire after a women’s rights campaigner was ordered to accept an official warning over a broken brolly after a complaint by a trans activist .
Furious MSPs called on Chief Constable Jo Farrell to explain the decision to order Susan Smith, director of For Women Scotland, to attend a police station to face vandalism allegations made by a counter protester at a rally outside Holyrood last month.
Smith, who was part of a feminist group who took the Scottish Government to the Supreme Court on the definition of a woman and won, has been accused of causing minor damage to the rainbow-coloured golf umbrella held by Tom Harlow after she asked him to turn his music down at the Women Won’t Wait event.
