PUNTA GORDA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Details are emerging in a case involving a Charlotte County sheriff’s deputy who allegedly exchanged nude photos and explicit messages with a 10-year-old girl from Texas.

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that the deputy, James Ford, was arrested and charged with three felonies.

Ford has been placed on administrative leave without pay and is currently being held in the Charlotte County Jail, the statement said.

The case began in Coryell County, a rural area in Central Texas.

According to a probable cause affidavit:

Parents of a 10-year-old girl contacted authorities when they found TikTok messages from an adult male on her phone.
