YORK, Maine — Firefighters in York rescued a driver Tuesday afternoon after a dump truck rolled over on Western Point Road, according to a social media post by the York Fire Department.

The department said crews were dispatched to the single-vehicle crash after a loaded tri-axle dump truck tipped onto the shoulder of the gravel roadway. Firefighters worked quickly to free the lone occupant from the cab, and the individual was evaluated by York Ambulance personnel at the scene, according to the post.

Deputy Chief Balentine was in command of the response.

A total of 14 fire and EMS personnel responded or helped cover the station to ensure continued service, the department said.

Units responding included C-1, C-3, Squad 2, Engine 4 and Ambulance 1.
