A 28-year-old motorcyclist was flown to the hospital after he collided with a van and was thrown into a stopped tractor-trailer in E. Ryegate, Vermont.

Troopers responded around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday to Ryegate Road, where, according to state police, a preliminary investigation shows Max Fournier had been driving his CFMoto 675SS southbound when he crashed into a Ford Transit Connect. The impact from that caused Fournier to be thrown from his motorcycle into a Western Star tractor-trailer.

Fournier, of Ryegate, suffered serious injuries in the incident and was taken to Cottage Hospital before being air lifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, police said.
