A Cheraw man is facing child sex crimes charges following an investigation.

The South Carolina Attorney General's Office announced Wednesday that 40-year-old James Michael Presnell II was arrested on October 27, 2025, after an investigation conducted along with the Lexington Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Presnell is now charged with two counts of criminal solicitation of a minor, one count of attempted criminal sexual conduct with a minor, and two counts of dissemination of obscene material to a person under the age of eighteen.
