Detroit — The Detroit City Council has approved an ordinance requiring the Detroit Police Department to publicly release video within 30 days of any incident that involves injuries to citizens.
The ordinance, which passed Tuesday in an 8-1 vote, allows the police to withhold videos, including "footage determined by Corporation Counsel to be prejudicial in a civil matter," and any incidents involving task forces.
