Microsoft is down, with thousands of users reporting an outage online.

Problems began around 3.30pm, with Xbox and Minecraft players also recording issues, according to Downdetector.

Reports peaked at 4.30PM with users around the world flagging issues, including 38 per cent in the USA's east coast, 34 per cent in the EU and 28 per cent in the USA's west coast.

On Downdetector, people are flagging problems with applications such as Snapchat, Roblox, Fortnite, Duolingo and Canva.

On Wednesday, Microsoft announced ongoing “network availability” issues on Azure.

They wrote: “We are taking two concurrent actions where we are blocking all changes to the AFD services and at the same time rolling back to our last known good state."
