Millions of people have been left without access to the internet and are facing issues with major websites including Natwest , BT and Minecraft due to a Microsoft outage.

Downdetector - a website which tracks complaints about online services - showed a spike in reports of issues on Wednesday evening, including more than 2,000 reports at Xbox and at least 500 reports for Microsoft Outlook by 6pm.

Heathrow Airport has also reportedly been affected.

It is the second major cloud server outage in less than two weeks after Amazon Web Services (AWS) went down for several hours on 20 October, affecting a number of websites and apps.
