A strong Rowan County volleyball season ended on Tuesday with losses by South Rowan and Carson in regional finals.
Sixth-seeded South lost 25-10, 25-8 and 25-13 to top-seeded Lake Norman Charter (29-3).
The Raiders finished 22-7. Lake Norman Charter will play Randleman or Uwharrie Charter for the 4A state championship on Friday at Joel Coliseum.

Second-seeded Carson (29-4) lost 25-18, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-16 to top-seeded Hickory (34-4). Hickory will play for the 5A state championship against Person or Seaforth on Friday at Joel Coliseum.
