AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. —
A man in Aiken County, South Carolina, has been charged in connection with a kidnapping and sexual assault that took place more than 15 years ago.
On Oct. 24, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division charged 50-year-old Tyrone James with kidnapping, third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and third-degree assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct.
According to one of the arrest warrants, between August and October 2008, James kidnapped a 15-year-old and drove them to the parking lot of Edgar A. Brown, which is now the city hall in Barnwell. James then forced the victim into the back seat, where he sexually assaulted the victim.
Another arrest warrant states that on July 13, 2017, James assaulted a victim in a locked bedroom.
