A man and woman from Jefferson Parish are accused of committing identity theft in order to secure $250,000 in loans in the name of Tennessee Titans Quarterback and No. 1 draft pick Cam Ward, according to authorities.
Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office detectives arrested Albert Weber, 42, of Harvey, and Cyntrelle Lash, 39, of Metairie, on May 16 on charges including identity theft, bank fraud and forgery, said Capt. Jason Rivarde, spokesperson for the department.
"We believe Weber posed as Cam Ward's dad to obtain the loans, and she assisted in the fraud," Rivarde said.
Neither Weber nor Lash could be reached for comment Wednesday. They have not been formally charged.
