HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Holyoke Police have seized crack-cocaine and heroin while investigating a known problem area in the city.

Officers reportedly saw suspected drug activity in the area of Spring and Clemente Streets Tuesday afternoon and approached the suspect, later identified as 38-year-old Matthew Oakes of Holyoke. Police seized approximately 28 capsules of crack-cocaine, 53 bags of heroin, and just over $100 in cash.

Oakes now faces several charges of possession and intent to distribute drugs.
