SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Make sure you have the rain jacket and umbrella before you head out the door. This morning is starting off cool, but still not as cold as previous mornings. Many of us started off in the 40’s.

Today, we are expecting to see periods of rain. A few light showers in the morning. As we move closer to the evening commute, we’ll see periods of steady rain begin, with some pockets of heavier rain, and this lasts through the rest of the evening and into the overnight, coming to an end before the sun comes up Friday.

This is as low-pressure approaches from the south, and passes to our west, so we are on the milder side of this system.

All said and done, we are likely looking at about a 1-2″ of soaking rainfall, beneficial rain. No concerns for widespread flooding
