KILLEEN, Texas — Police have identified a body found in a rural area west of Temple as a Killeen man who had been reported missing earlier this month.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office on Monday identified the body as 38-year-old Henry Luis Suarez-Perez of Killeen. Suarez-Perez had been reported missing to the Killeen Police Department on Oct. 24, according to the Bell County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said Suarez-Perez’s body was discovered Oct. 27 in a creek bed near White Flint Park Road and Winkler Park Road, off Texas Highway 36. The death is being investigated as suspicious, police said.

The discovery followed weeks of reports and welfare checks in the area where Suarez-Perez’s vehicle was found.
