PHILADELPHIA − The Eagles are trading for Jets cornerback Michael Carter, who has spent most of his career as a nickel cornerback.
That could be a signal that the Eagles are moving Cooper DeJean to the outside.

Eagles trade for CB Michael Carter
Carter was a fifth-round pick of the Jets in 2021. He signed a 3-year, $30.8M deal with the Jets in 2024, making him at the time the highest-paid nickel in the NFL.
He is a well-established nickel, and that could enable Cooper DeJean to play outside full-time, instead of only when the Eagles are in base defense.
