NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Nacogdoches ISD unveiled their new playground at Raguet Elementary.

The official unveiling took place Tuesday during a ribbon cutting ceremony behind the campus. Superintendent Grey Burton welcomed students and staff, and Principal Julia Wells cut the ribbon.

And immediately after, students got to break-in the new equipment. The new playground replaces 20-year-old equipment, and features new wood ships for soft landings.

Nacogdoches ISD trustees approved the purchase and installation of new equipment in April, costing $402,193. Construction began toward the end of September.
