BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - On Thursday, Governor Kelly Armstrong’s office will announce a plan that could help North Dakotans who are getting federal food assistance. On Saturday, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits are set to freeze because of the government shutdown.
The program helps almost 60,000 North Dakotans with food stamps.
The Governor, North Dakota Health and Human Services Interim Commissioner Pat Traynor, State Health Officer Sherry Adams, and Great Plains Food Bank Interim CEO and Chief Operating Officer Kate Molbert will be at the press conference.
