BOSTON (WPRI) — A staff member with Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey's office has been fired from his position for allegedly trafficking cocaine, according to Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni.
LaMar Cook, 45, was arrested Tuesday night in Springfield on charges of trafficking 200 grams or more of cocaine, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition.
Public records show Cook has served as the deputy director of Healey’s Western Massachusetts Office since 2023.
Officials said eight kilograms of cocaine were seized Saturday during a controlled delivery operation at the Springfield State Office Building, where Cook worked. Investigators later executed a search warrant at his former office Monday night.
The investigation stems from an Oct. 10 incident
