ATHOL, Idaho — Silverwood Theme Park announced on Wednesday that it has raised more than $30,000 for local food banks in the Spokane and North Idaho area.
Silverwood said throughout September, it hosted Community Appreciation Weekends. During those weekends, the park contributed $4 from every general admission ticket and $1 from youth and senior tickets to raise the money.
By the end of the season, Silverwood raised $38,120, which was distributed among several food banks, including ABC Food Bank in Athol, 3rd Avenue Marketplace in Post Falls, Second Harvest in Spokane, Community Action Partnership in Coeur d’Alene, and Bonner Community Food Bank in Sandpoint.
