ATHOL, Idaho -- Silverwood Theme Park raised over $38,000 to go to several food banks across the Inland Northwest.

The money was raised through the theme park's Community Appreciation Weekends in September. $4 from every general admission ticket and $1 from every youth and senior ticket purchased during those weekends was set aside to support area food banks.

By the end of the season, Silverwood raised $38,120. The money was distributed to several food banks, including ABC Food Bank in Athol, 3rd Avenue Marketplace in Post Falls, Second Harvest in Spokane, Community Action Partnership in Coeur d'Alene and Bonner Community Food Bank in Sandpoint.

“We’re thrilled to see such a generous response, and were able to match our total from last season,” said Silverwood’s Public Relations Manager
