Actress Prunella Scales, perhaps best known for playing John Cleese’s long-suffering wife Sybil Fawlty on “Fawlty Towers,” has died. She was 93.
Scales died peacefully at her London home, her sons, Samuel and Joseph, said in a statement sent to the Hollywood Reporter. She had been battling dementia but “was watching ‘Fawlty Towers’ the day before she died,” they said.
“We would like to thank all those who gave Pru such wonderful care at the end of her life: her last days were comfortable, contented and surrounded by love,” the statement said.
Her husband, actor Timothy West, died in November of last year.
