The Harkins Theatre at Camelview at Fashion Square, the Mayo Clinic and Sunrise of Scottsdale will be among more than 1,500 buildings and landmarks around the world that will be lit teal on Nov. 3 as part of Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s Light the World in Teal program.
The annual program, held in November as part of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, aims to literally shine a spotlight on Alzheimer’s disease and show support for the millions of people affected by it.
Nearly seven million Americans, including 151,000 Arizonans, are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease, according to a press release. The number of people with Alzheimer’s is projected to double by 2060, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
