On Wednesday at 2:41 p.m. the National Weather Service released a coastal flood statement valid for Thursday between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. for Suffolk County.
"Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline," explains the weather service. "There is potential of more widespread minor coastal flooding during high tide on Friday morning high tide."
The weather service adds, "Do not drive through flooded roadways."
