Coastal flood statement affecting 3 N.J. counties Thursday

A coastal flood statement was released by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 2:41 p.m. valid for Thursday between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. for Hudson, Essex and Union counties.

The weather service describes, “Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.”

“Brief minor flooding of the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline,” comments the weather service. “Do not drive through flooded roadways.”
