VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is sharing Halloween safety tips to ensure families enjoy a safe night.

Sheriff Noah Robinson emphasized increased patrols and deputies distributing candy as part of the festivities.

“We’re putting out more patrols that evening and being visible, and we’re even giving some of our sheriff’s deputies Halloween candy to pass out; we like to take part in the fun as well,” Robinson said.

The Sheriff’s Office supports both traditional trick-or-treating and organized events like trunk or treat.

“If you live in a neighborhood, it’s a great way to talk to your neighbors, let your kids play with friends, and socialize. I’ve always liked Halloween for that aspect,” Robinson said. “But trunk or treat events are great as well
