PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- Paducah police said a woman faces a lengthy prison sentence after pleading guilty to multiple drug trafficking charges.
Police said Sheila Shumpert of Paducah received a 25-year sentence for trafficking fentanyl in McCracken County.
Shumpert's conviction resulted from investigations conducted in 2022 and 2024. In 2022, authorities reported seizing more than 8,000 fentanyl pills. Authorities also reported in 2024, approximately 3,500 pills were confiscated.
“This case is a great example what can be accomplished when law enforcement and prosecutors work side-by-side toward the common goal of protecting our citizens,” said Paducah Police Chief Brian Laird.
