KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) - A familiar face is making a return to Kansas City after being waived by the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Chiefs signed defensive tackle Mike Pennel on Wednesday for the third time in the middle of a season, adding some depth to their defensive line. Pennel swiftly made his way to Kansas City after being released by the Bengals yesterday.
Pennel was with the Chiefs last season, playing all 17 games and making seven starts. He finished 2024 with three sacks, 25 tackles and two QB hits.
Chris Jones was very passionate about the team bringing back Pennel earlier this month, and it showed when Pennel was at practice on Wednesday, with the two performing their signature handshake and dancing.
