LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Prosthetic technicians at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital dedicate every day to helping our Mid-Michigan communities, but two of these techs recently took their expertise nearly three thousand miles away to Guatemala City.
Video from the trip shows some of the first steps towards a brighter future for people who have been waiting for relief.
“The main problem is 90% of patients who need access to assistive devices or prosthetic devices just don't simply have access to it," said Orthotics Fitter Alex Basford with the Mary Free Bed Orthotics & Prosthetics + Bionics team.
Alex Basford and Arthur Pruiett recently returned home from Guatemala City where they had a busy few days.
