Portage la Prairie recently played host to about 60 service club delegates from across Manitoba and Northwest Ontario, an event the city’s deputy mayor says was a welcome boost for the local economy.
The District 2 Kin Canada Fall Leadership Conference, representing Kin Canada clubs, was held at Canad Inns.
Deputy Mayor Joe Masi, who brought greetings on behalf of the city, said hosting such conventions provides a dual benefit.
“It brings economic activity to our community, which is always great, but it also allows us to showcase our community and what we have to offer,” Masi said in an interview.
