FOSTER, R.I. (WPRI) — A woman was arrested after she reportedly stabbed a man several times in Foster over the weekend.

Kayla Alimandi, 36, was taken into custody early Saturday morning. She's been charged with domestic violence felony assault and battery, as well as domestic violence disorderly conduct.

Officers responded to Danielson Pike home just before 2 a.m. after receiving a 911 call from a man who claimed he had "fallen and cut himself," according to police.

The officers arrived and found the victim suffering from severe lacerations to his face, arms and leg. Police said that when the officers asked the man what happened, he replied, "I don't know" and "I have no idea."
