NAGS HEAD, N.C. (WAVY) — A coastal storm continues to impact travel on the Outer Banks, as NC 12 from the Marc Basnight Bridge to Rodanthe, reopened late Wednesday afternoon, but is still closed on Ocracoke.

10 On Your Side had planned to work our way down to Buxton to report on the homes that fell into the water Tuesday, but could only get as far as the Marc Basnight Bridge.

The sign at the entrance to The National Park Service Information Center warns of trouble ahead. And the line of traffic at the foot of the Marc Basnmight Bridge is where your troubles start.

"We've been here since, I think, 10:30 this morning," said visitor Jessica Allen. "Yeah, just trying to get to Avon to go see my dad, windsurf. Came down from Alaska to surprise him."

It was not a pleasant surprise for Allen
