Earlier today, it was revealed that the Green Bay Packers had signed cornerback Tyron Herring to the practice squad, based on him being spotted by the media at the Packers’ Wednesday practice. What we now know, though, is that Green Bay actually signed two practice squadders today, as the team announced that the Packers had also signed defensive lineman Dante Barnett.

Barnett began playing football for the NFL Academy, the league’s international prep development wing. For example, this year’s team traveled to Bradenton to play IMG Academy, a top prep program, and also hosted St. Thomas Aquinas, another top prep program. The NFL Academy lost 41-24 to IMG, but nearly beat St. Thomas Aquinas in a 41-38 game.
