JACKSON, Mo. (KFVS) - Stan Baughn lives in Jackson, but 13 of his family members are stranded at a resort in Montego Bay.
They were set to leave on Thursday, but are now stranded in Jamaica for the foreseeable future--thanks to Hurricane Melissa.
“I could run and scream and yell, but there’s nothing that would do no good whatsoever,” Baugh said.
He said despite the conditions, his sister-in-law was able to send him a much-needed message, letting him know they were OK.
“She climbed up 11 floors because the elevators weren’t working, and so she climbed to the 11th floor to get cell reception because it’s very spotty where they’re at, and so she talked to me and said they were fine, and had food and water,” Baughn explained.
