The Cambridge mayor and council have voiced strong disapproval towards changes proposed for a 22-storey apartment block in City Beach, with Gary Mack calling it a “lost opportunity” for community amenity.
Developers behind the already-approved Ocean Village development in City Beach have applied for a number of changes to the future high-rise complex. This includes reducing the size of a planned tavern, removing two planned commercial tenancies and adding 17 additional apartments, including some on the ground level.
Cambridge council was asked to provide a response, but any decision on the changes put forward by the site developer Blackburne is ultimately up to WA’s peak planning body.
