OSAGE CITY, Kan. (KSNT) - From northeast Kansas to the biggest stage in baseball, one Osage City man is back in the World Series.
Blake Treinen graduated from Osage City High School back in 2005. Now pitching for the Los Angeles Dodgers, the 37-year-old pitcher is looking to win his third World Series in the last five years.
Holding a career sub 3.0 ERA, Treinen's high school coach, Bryan Sage, says back in high school, he wasn't the best player on the team. Although, his love for the game separated him from everyone else.
"He was a good kid. Loved to pitch, and that's mainly what he did for me back in the day," Sage said. "Just a kid that loved baseball and continued to follow his dream and never give up and take no as an answer."
