POUGHKEEPSIE – City cops are mourning the loss of K9 Falcone, who was named after City of Poughkeepsie Detective John Falcone, who was killed in the line of duty in 2011. K9 Falcone joined the department one year later and served the city until his passing on Tuesday, October 28, just shy of his 13th birthday. Falcone was partnered with Officer Mike Barbagallo, one of the city’s most recognizable cops, with 32 years of experience as an officer in Poughkeepsie. Falcone was Barbagallo’s second K9 partner.
