A new analysis by Avis has examined social media trends, Google search volumes, TripAdvisor reviews, and airport proximity to highlight the continent’s most secluded and popular fairytale castles this autumn. ‌

Scotland shines in the rankings, with Eilean Donan Castle and Inveraray Castle representing the country’s best-kept secrets. ‌

Topping the list is Romania’s dramatic Gothic-Renaissance Corvin Castle in Hunedoara. Known for its towering fortifications and eerie history, the castle is said to have imprisoned Vlad the Impaler, the real-life inspiration for Dracula. ‌
