CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) -- One person was hospitalized out of an "abundance of caution" following a two-vehicle crash in Champaign Wednesday morning.

The Champaign Police Department said they were dispatched to the 500 block of N Mattis Avenue for the report of a traffic crash at 9:04 a.m. On scene, officers learned that a vehicle had been struck entering traffic from a private driveway.

The driver of that vehicle was cited for cited for failure to yield. Champaign Police said one person was transported to an area hospital for evaluation out of an abundance of caution.

Officers briefly halted traffic in some lanes to ensure safety for first responders on scene during cleanup. Both vehicles were towed due to the damage they sustained in this collision, and all lanes were reopened by 10:29
