GRAND FORKS — Jayson Shaugabay was on a line with brothers Max and Zam Plante to start last season.

They scored all three Minnesota Duluth goals and tallied seven points in the season opener.

But in the third period, Max broke his wrist and missed a month and a half. Right when he got back, he left for the World Junior Championship and missed three more games.

That trio was sporadically together the rest of the season.

"We shuffled the lines a lot last year trying to find stuff," Shaugabay said. "We played with each other going into the playoffs. We were playing really well together. We stuck with it this year and it's been working."

Shaugabay, a former Warroad High School star, is off to a torrid start to his sophomore season at Minnesota Duluth.
