EVERETT — Everett Fire Department credits a quick response by coworkers for helping save an unresponsive employee working on a ferry in for repairs Tuesday evening in Everett.

Around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to reports of an employee who began experiencing signs of cardiac arrest in a confined space on the ferry docked at the Port of Everett terminal, according to an Everett Fire Department social media post .

Before firefighters arrived, coworkers used an Automated External Defibrillator to begin CPR, the post said. Firefighters found the group in a confined space behind the boiler at a lower level. The patient regained a pulse shortly after first responders took over.
