COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - At the beginning of the new year, El Paso County officials said there will be changes to two downtown parking garages.

Beginning January 1, all transactions at the Sahwatch and Costilla parking garages will be cashless.

The county said that the update would enhance safety, reduce wait times and provide a smoother overall experience for visitors in downtown Colorado Springs.

They said the parking rate and hours will stay the same, and the new system would accept all major credit and debit cards.
