COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio - The founder of a Columbiana County addiction recovery charity accused of misusing donations is speaking out, calling the allegations “nonsense.”

This comes after a court appointed an attorney to take over the organization’s assets following a civil lawsuit filed by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.

The Attorney General’s Office alleges Lamb’s House, based in Rogers, misused charitable donations and has not used its 43-acre property for recovery services as intended since at least 2017.

The court filing alleges founder and president Mark Altomare spent thousands of dollars in charitable funds on personal purchases while living rent-free on the property.

Altomare, however, denies those allegations.
