KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Nearly half of the patients who come to Vibrant Health are uninsured. It's one of the few community health clinics who will see anyone, even those without insurance.
"Our clinical staff are focused on providing the best care for anybody that comes through our doors, regardless of income [or] insurance status," Vibrant Health CEO Patrick Sallee said.
Sallee told FOX4 Problem Solvers more people won't be able to afford health insurance if lawmakers don't renew enhanced premium tax credits, which are set to expire at the end of this year. Those tax credits are for plans sold through the Affordable Care Act marketplace; people making 400% of the federal poverty level qualify for help on a sliding scale.
